St. Dominic School is committed to providing a quality academic program that fosters critical thinking and competency in verbal and nonverbal skills in a Christ-centered environment. It is the school’s goal to meet the individual needs of each student through a variety of learning experiences, and to facilitate the development of student’s knowledge and organizational skills in order to achieve an integrated and structured understanding of information.
The curriculum at St. Dominic School is implemented according to standards set forth by the Diocese of Sacramento, which meet or exceed California State Standards. We maintain a tradition of academic excellence by offering a comprehensive and challenging curriculum that includes the traditional subjects of English language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, as well as classes in religion, STEM, Spanish, music, and physical education; technology is woven throughout the curriculum. Our educational approach engages children in a positive and interactive way, ensuring that they think critically, collaborate cooperatively, seek long-term solutions, and exercise creativity as a tool for innovative problem solving.
An education at St. Dominic School is unique because it focuses on the needs of the whole child as a valued and respected unique member of God’s family. A truly effective and impactful education program focuses on more than just academic knowledge. Children are encouraged to develop and enhance their individual talents through a variety of academic and specialized programs offered at St. Dominic School. Students are happiest and perform at their highest potentials when they are given the freedom to play, create, and explore. We honor these necessities by offering a wide variety of enrichment opportunities in volleyball, basketball, football, cheerleading, California Junior Scholarship Federation, Student Council, performing arts, choir, and orchestra.
